EQUIPMENT

I have worked in most major studios in town and am very flexible when it comes to working on different systems, but I also have a comprehensive setup of equipment which allows me to work at home or to bring my setup to wherever I need to be. I work on a MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo, 2.33 GHz, 3GB RAM if you like stats) and have Final Cut Studio and Shake ready to go. I also have a full PC setup with AVID editing and the Adobe CS3 suite of products as well. I don't complain about PC vs Mac, AVID vs Final Cut; I get the job done.

EDITING

I specialize in video editing on the AVID systems (Xpress, Composer, Symphony, Adrenaline) and on Final Cut Pro. I have edited nearly every style and type of video and film out there. Newsmagazine, reality, infomercials, short film, music video, drama, comedy, avant garde, corporate, weddings, infomercial...you get the idea. I am versed in DV, HD, HDV, analogue and film formats and can work with the strengths and weaknesses of each format.

I believe that editing is in the brain more than with software. That said, I have experience on nearly everything out there such as DPS Velocity, Media 100, Edit by Discreet Logic and more. I am quick and innovative, and can meet deadlines with time to spare.

AUDIO

I am experienced in sound design, noise reduction, mixing and recording. I have a keen ear for music and sound, can play a number of instruments, and can even write music when needed. I use a variety of audio software such as Soundtrack Pro, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Reason, Logic and more.

COMPOSITING / GRAPHICS

I am adept on Shake, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator and Quark. I am constantly undergoing additional training to get my compositing skills to the expert level.

I am experienced with creating elaborate visual compositions for TV and film utilizing both motion graphics and compositing. I am also experienced in the print side of things with business cards, flyers, pamphlets, logos and other custom designs as well.

WEB DESIGN

I design web sites and can code in HTML and CSS, and currently maintain LFC Vancouver, the website of the local Liverpool FC Supporters Club branch.

I can operate and shoot on DV and HDV cameras, and am also experienced on news cameras and related equipment, such as location audio and lighting. I am competent at digital and analogue still/photographic camera work as well.

Editing is more than just pictures with me, and I have experience with editing screenplays and scripts. I can even write from scratch.

Media doesn't just come on TV and movie screens anymore, and I can handle the formats in new media as well. I'm very experienced with encoding, compression and the technical skill involved in having media look good on computers, DVDs, iPods, cellphones, podcasts and vidcasts.
